How do taxpayers authorize the release of their record(s)?
Unlike the old 4506-T and 4506-C forms, there are no wet signatures.
With TrueData, when a request is created, taxpayers are notified that their authorization is needed to release their records. Taxpayers are then directed to the IRS website to log in with an ID.me account. Once logged in, it takes 2 clicks to approve your request. -
